Timothy Wayne Gupton Sr.

Mr. Timothy Wayne Gupton Sr., 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 28th, 1947, in Henderson, North Carolina. Timothy was the middle child born to the late Thelbert and Stella Gupton.Tim graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and spent most of his career as an accountant and CFO. He was continuously charitable throughout his life giving his time and energy to many boards of directors and other organizations.

Tim lived his Christian faith and shared Jesus’ love with everyone he met. A faithful husband and father, he enjoyed spending any of his time away from work with his family. He traveled all over the world and never missed a gymnastic event or a soccer game. Tim also loved to work in his yard and his woodworking shop and shared his crafts with many people.

After his retirement, Tim spent time traveling with his wife, Susan. Together, they enjoyed spending time with each other and with friends. They could also be found at home working on a new jigsaw puzzle and watching their favorite TV show, Andy Griffith.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Mary Jane Gupton Morgan (Jim); his son, Timothy Wayne Gupton, Jr. (Sydney); four grandchildren, TJ and Julia Morgan, and Kyler and Brady Gupton; and two brothers, Thelbert Gupton Jr. (Chris) and Steve Gupton (Joyce).

The family invites you to the Celebration of Life in honor of Tim to be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:00am at Calvary West Church, 136 Medical Drive, Bermuda Run, NC, 27006 with Pastor Ryan Showalter officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to YMCA Camp Hanes at www.ymcanwnc.org.
