Tina Marie Billington, 61, passed away peacefully at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on March 20, 2026.
Born November 19, 1964, in Syracuse, New York, Tina was the daughter of George Billington and Elizabeth “Betsy” Guiles. From an early age, she stood out for her intelligence, warmth, and vibrant spirit, graduating from Paul V. Moore High School in 1982, early, ahead of her class. After high school, she briefly attended nursing school, reflecting her natural compassion and desire to care for others.
A few years after high school, Tina began at Pepsi and built a long, dedicated career, working for more than 31 years. In 2003, she relocated to Winston-Salem through a company transfer and continued her work with PepsiCo/Cognizant until late 2025. Her commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic earned her colleagues' respect throughout her career.
In 2001, Tina met her beloved wife, Judy, and their connection was immediate and enduring. Together, they built a life filled with love, friendship, and a shared commitment to community. They were among the first same-sex couples to marry when it became legal in their state, and they remained devoted to one another for 7 years until Judy passed in 2022.
Tina will be remembered for her generous heart, outgoing personality, and the way she made others feel welcomed and valued. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together and create spaces filled with laughter, acceptance, and joy. If you knew her, you know, her laughter could fill a room!
She had a deep love for her dogs—Rico, Spirit, and Aries—and was a devoted member of Central Triad Church, where her faith was central to her life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betsy; her father, George; and her wife, Judy. She is survived by her sisters, Julie Barney (Jason, Hannah, Ayden, and Lucy, of Reno, Nevada) and Autumn Billington of Fulton, New York.
Tina’s legacy of love, kindness, and community will continue to live on in all who knew her.
