Tina Marie Wagoner Joyce Matthews

Tina Marie Wagoner Joyce Matthews, 68, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 30, 2024, following many years of declining health. 

She was born in Winston-Salem, NC, on March 5, 1956, to the late Charles (Chuck) and Virginia (Jenny) Wagoner. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her foster parents, Curtis and Grace Chappel; sister, Patricia (Pat) Yow; father and mother in-law, Jack and Pat Matthews; and sister in-law, Cindy Stinson.

Tina is survived by her loving husband and caregiver of over 26 years, Thomas (Tom) Matthews; children, Katina McLelland and husband Rusty, and BJ Joyce and wife Sabrina; the father of her children, Billy Joyce and wife, Terri; grandchildren, Kaleigh Daubenmire and husband, David, Chelsea Miller, AJ Joyce, and Ashlynn Joyce; great-grandson, Weston Daubenmire, and one on the way; sisters, Sherry Reid, Shannon Leonard, and Debbie Ammons; JoAnn Clark and husband Daniel, and Sam White and husband Paul, their mother, Sylvia James; sister, Jen Jenson and husband John, her mother, Norma Wagoner; brother, Steve Shell and wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Donna Boone and husband, Bill; brother-in-law, Tim Stinson; and many nieces and nephews. 

Tina worked for Piedmont Aviation as a Warranty Administrator for over 20 years where she met her husband. She enjoyed watching mystery movies, painting ceramics, taking trips to the beach with her family, and camping at Homeplace Park in Ararat as long as her health allowed.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 10:00AM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor John Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends the night prior, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. 

The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to Trellis Supportive Care for their phenomenal care they extended to Tina for the last several months. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
