Mr. Tommie Joe Brinegar, 73, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family August 8, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1945 in Wilkes County to the late Bordie Carlos Brinegar and Helen Marie Brinegar. Tommie served in the United States Airforce during the Viet Nam War. After leaving the military, he began his career with RJ Reynolds, retiring with 30 plus years. He was a faithful member of Siloam Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling and working on old cars. In addition, he worked with the good folks at K&G Salvage Company. He is preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Susan Brinegar, he is survived by his daughter, Tammy Lynn Thomas (Justin) of king, NC; one Granddaughter, Marilyn Pegram, King, NC; two great-grandchildren, Elyiah and Emma; one brother, Steve Brinegar of Traphill, NC; one special sister, Martha Weaver of Warrensville, NC, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Hayworth- Miller Chapel Rural Hall with Rev. Jarred Seal Officiating.
