Tommy Gray Davis

Mr. Tommy Gray Davis, age 82, of Rural Hall, NC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born on December 16, 1942, in Yadkin County to the late John Monroe Davis and Jewel Long Davis. Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a faithful member of North Point Baptist Church. Tommy retired after 30 years of service at RJ Reynolds.

Tommy is remembered as a quiet, reliable man with a loving heart. He met the love of his life at their local church at a young age, and shared the rest of his days with his beloved helpmeet Charlotte. He loved the Lord and was faithful to take his family to church whenever the doors were open. He was also faithful in weekly helping his parents on there NC farm for years beyond his residence in the home, even while he faithfully provided for his own family, leaving for work and returning home from work at the exact same time every day. But it wasn’t business only for Tommy. He loved spending leisure time with his family, driving his young girls on dirt bikes and road bike trips – especially on the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as teaching all his girls – including his wife Charlotte – how to play softball. Tommy loved visiting with his grandchildren, and though he didn’t have much time with his great-grandchildren, he loved them too. He loved trips to the beach and to the mountains. Most recently, Tommy developed a strong bond with his son-in-law John who played a critical role in his care. Tommy had a tender smile that warmed the hearts of those who loved him.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by three siblings, Nancy, Gene, and Jimmy. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Charlotte Davis; two daughters, Tommi Anne Jeremiah and Monica Foote (John); five grandchildren, Joshua Jeremiah, Elisabeth Matta (Mike), Mary Ashlyn Yenter (Jaime), Mark Jeremiah, and Abigail Foote; five great-grandchildren, Joanna, Joy, Jack, Rheagan, and Kaley; five siblings, Mary Alice Brewster, Sanford Lewis “S.L.” Davis (Judy), Charles Davis (Denise), Eddie Davis and Martha Beck; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service Wednesday June 18, 2025 at North Point Baptist Church beginning at 1pm. The funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Wednesday June 18, 2025, at North Point Baptist Church with Pastors Jason Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at Old Friends Union Cemetery in Pinnacle, NC.
