Trevor-Wayne Chase Martin, 26, passed away on Monday December 3, 2018, at his home in Winston Salem, NC. Trevor was born in Forsyth County on November 21, 1992. Surviving are his Mother, Tinily Groves and husband John; his Father, Gene Martin; his Grandparents, Robin Moore Boggs, Michael Bolling, and Jerry and Elaine Martin; his Siblings, Breece Binkley, Miranda Binkley, Patrick Groves and Brody Groves; Aunts, Tiffany Moore, Summer Bauguess, and Sylvia Dalrymble and husband Stanley; Uncle, Ricky Martin; along with many close and extended family members, of whom all he loved dearly.
Trevor battled with addiction and made devastating choices that lead to much struggle and heartache. Trevor was in recovery for 18 months prior to his passing. Nobody asks or wants to be an addict, it can happen to anyone. Trevor was much more than his addiction. As a child, Trevor loved sports, he played football for the Kernersville Raiders and Lewisville Titans; basketball for the Jerry Long Family YMCA up until the age of 12. Trevor was a Boy Scout in Clemmons, NC, Troop 736. He absolutely loved camping, fishing and four wheeling and spent many weekends doing this with family and friends. Trevor was a West Forsyth High School graduate in 2011. Trevor adored children, especially his little sisters, always playing with them, next to them at all birthday events and playing any activity to show his love. No child went unnoticed in his presence. Even through his struggle, Trevor was a Treasure, he was a sweet, loving and caring young man, always there to help someone in need.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
