Troy Leonard Kitchens

Mr. Troy Leonard Kitchens, 93, passed away August 4, 2017 at the VA hospital in Salisbury. Troy was born June 23, 1924 to the late Ernest and Bertha Wallace Kitchens. He loved to whittle. He loved carving animals and many other special keepsakes. He played guitar in the Rambler's country band. Mr. Kitchens was a sewing machine mechanic by trade after he returned from serving in WWII. Troy was a very, very sweet man with a heart of gold. ""He would give you the shirt off his own back."" He had a sensitive and kind spirit that will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Charlotte Harness.
Surviving are, his loving adopted daughter; Lola Worrell Smith, a adoted granddaughter; Joy Jessup (Thomas), and three adopted great grandchildren; Trinity, Morgan; and Nicholas.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Salisbury National Cemetery.
