Troy Lee Parrish

Mr. Troy Lee Parrish, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Lake Wylie Assisted Living in Lake Wylie, SC. He was born in Forsyth Co. on November 14, 1927 the son of the late Coy and Annie Parrish. Troy worked for a few years at Thomasville Furniture but will always be remembered for his 39 years of service as the caretaker of Woodland Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son; Ronnie Parrish. Troy is survived by his wife; Martha Mae Whitener Parrish, a son; Tony O. Parrish (Deborah), two grandchildren; Tony Devan Parrish and Christopher Dean Parrish, a brother; Ralph Parrish and three sisters; Elizabeth ""Lib"" Myers, Louise Boaz, and Virginia ""Sis"" Simmons. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon Friday, January 29, 2016 at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons, Rev. Vic Pyles, And Brother Don Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 10:30- 12:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 1175 Bethania Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, N.C., 27106.
