Velner 'Vel' Aaron Shaw Smith
Mrs. Velner ""Vel"" Aaron Shaw Smith, 83, passed away October 17, 2012. She was born June 21, 1929 to the late Moyer Garfield Aaron and Cleo Adams Aaron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Redden Eugene Smith and two brothers. She is survived by her two sons, Stanley Eugene Smith and Huston E. Shaw; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Dyson; a sister, Hazel Byrd; a cousin, Betty Shell and a grandson. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with the Rev. Chris D. Byrne officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm on Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
