Venice Virginia Myers

Venice Virginia Warren Myers began her new life eternal on July 10, 2016 as she ascended to her everlasting home in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She passed away at her son's home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 4, 1926 to Victoria and John Warren in Rural Hall, NC. On Dec 21, 1947, she married Ransom (Ronnie) Dedman Myers, Jr. a marriage built on love, that lasted for over 65 years. She is survived by two sons Jeffrey Myers and Scott Myers, his wife Laura Ann, and grandson Camden. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her brothers Percy, Alva, Claude, Sollie, Willie, Leonard, and sisters Elsie, Fannie, Addie, and Alta. Her sons have been blessed to have a mother whose life was one of love, generosity, and compassion, putting others first in all that she did. She was a member of First Wesleyan Methodist Church of Winston-Salem and served in several roles for many years. The family will welcome visitors at Hayworth-Miller, Silas Creek on Wednesday July 13th from 12-1:00 p.m., with the funeral service to be held immediately thereafter at Hayworth-Miller Chapel at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Fred Wood. She will be remembered for her love as a mother, her faith, and for a life that was a reflection of the love of her Saviour shining through her for the world to see. A special thank you to Sandra and Richard Lowry, who cared for both Ronnie and Venice in many special ways, to Jo Combs for her compassionate tender care, to Sharon Sparks for her love and support, and to Kathy Reich and Angela Holt who cared for Venice in her home for the last several years of her life. The family extends its gratitude and appreciation to everyone for the many prayers and acts of kindness evident in thought and deed and for the lovely flowers sent in honor of this time.
