Mrs. Verlie Marion Davis,92, just shy of her 93rd birthday, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Surry County on July 18, 1931, the daughter of the late Hubert and Dotsie Heath Marion. Mrs. Davis retired from Hanes Hosiery and was a member of New Home Church of Christ. She loved to quilt, sew, work in her flowers and cook for her loving family. The habits she formed during her humble beginnings stayed with her throughout her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Davis, Sr.; a son, Timothy Davis; her brother, Hassell Marion and her sister, Mary Lou Wilson. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Tommy Davis and wife Donna of Rural Hall; her daughter-in-law, Karen D. Davis of Winston-Salem, four grandchildren, Thomas W. “T.W.” Davis and wife Jenny of Leander, TX, Donald E. Davis of Rural Hall, Daniel A. Davis and wife Celeste of Winston-Salem and Jessica D. Trivitte and husband Chad of Mocksville; her great-grandchildren, Thomas H. Davis, Tucker K. Trivitte, Emerson J. Davis, Ava G. Trivitte and Brayden L. Trivitte; a brother, Wayne C. Marion of Winston-Salem; and special friends, Larry and Yvonne Meador of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at New Home Church of Christ in Dobson, NC with Donald Davis, Minister and Thomas Wayne Davis, III, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Monday evening, July 1, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Home Church of Christ Cemetery Fund or King Outreach Ministries of King.
