Vernon James Plunkett

Mr. Vernon James Plunkett, 69, passed away Sunday June 2, 2024. He was born September 27, 1954, in Forsyth County to the late William Thomas Plunkett and Eleanor O’Brien Staples. Vernon loved being outdoors and enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, working in his garden, and enjoying time on his boat. He was a family man who loved spending time with his granddaughters, and an avid supporter of the United States Military. He was very proud of both of his son’s service to their country. Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Cathy Stoltz Plunkett; two sons, Robbie Plunkett and Jay Plunkett (Kinsey); three Granddaughters, Caroline Plunkett, Vivienne Plunkett, and Oakley Plunkett; three siblings Teresa Stark, Lawrence Plunkett, and Susan Hunter; and a special cousin Pamela Sapp. A celebration of life service will be conducted at a later date. “No more questions please”-Vernon James Plunkett.
