Veva Scott Martin

Mrs. Veva Rebecca Scott Martin, 90, of Pfafftown, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Vienna Village Nursing Center. She was born February 15, 1926 in Surry County to Nora Irene Samuels Scott and Arvil Kester Scott. Mrs. Martin was a member of First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Martin retired from The Bank of Pilot Mountain. She was a special person who had definite opinions but loved all her family and friends with great love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lee Martin, Jr.; five brothers, Clifford, Graham, Jackie, Rex and Dean Scott; two sisters, Lois S. Nixon and Olene Haymore. Surviving are a son, Paul G. Martin and wife Judy of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Kristian Martin and wife Lisa of Greensboro and Peter Martin and wife Emily of Pfafftown; four great grandchildren, Jordan, Jackson, Natalie and Meghan; two sisters, Foy Moser and Kay S. Gardner; three sisters-in-law, Frances G. Scott, Dorothy B. Scott and Ingeborg Walters and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Pilot Mountain. Interment will follow in Pilot Mountain City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
