Kernersville-It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vicky Shore Hicks, 70, who departed this life peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Born on August 2, 1955, to the late Henry Soloman Shore and Lucille Golding Shore. She was a devoted wife, cherished mother, loving “Nana,” and faithful friend to many.
Vicky graduated from Granite Falls High School and attended Massey Junior College. She worked for RJ Reynolds for over thirty years where she retired in 2017.
The love of her life was her devoted husband of 47 years, her daughter - the apple of her eye, and two precious grandchildren. Vicky was an avid reader, loved listening to gospel music, a health enthusiast, great water skier, and loved sunshine. In her spare time, she could be found with her grandchildren and enjoying time at the lake. Family was her greatest joy, and she cherished time spent together. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection, where love was expressed through cooking and laughter was always welcome.
Vicky was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, where she found comfort, strength, and lasting friendships through her faith. She enjoyed volunteering her time through various church activities and groups.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Shore.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Dan Hicks; daughter Ryan Flowers and husband Matt, two grandchildren Tanner & Peyton; brother- in law Otha Hicks and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the traditions she created and the love she so freely gave. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family will receive friends and family Saturday February 7, 2026, at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown at 11:00 - 11:45 am. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Jeff Coppley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane Winston Salem, NC 27103, in appreciation for their compassionate care and support.
