Mrs. Virgie Hyatt Parks, 79, of Clemmons, passed away on January 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born on January 31, 1937 in Davidson County to Clarence Lopp and Zana Hiatt Hyatt. She graduated from North Davidson High School. Virgie retired from RJ Reynolds after 31 years of loyal service. She was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for over 10 years. Virgie was very supportive of her grandchildren in all the activities they did. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Cherry. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Parks of the Home; daughter, Kay Jarvis; son, Keith Parks and wife Joni; five grandchildren, Brad Parks, Tracie Welch and husband Jimmie, Chad Jarvis and fiancé Kristen Davis, Troy Jarvis and Sam Jarvis; two great grandchildren, Camden and Harper Welch; a brother, C.L. Hyatt and several nephews and nieces; two special neighbors and friends, Ruby Watson and Jean Livengood. Also, a special thank you to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter of Davie County for all the love and compassion. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Clemmons First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hammet officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 377 Hospital Street, Suite 103, Mocksville, NC 27028.
