Virginia "Ginny" Rose Elliott Holcomb, 86, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2017. She was born January 28, 1931, in Long Island, North Carolina, to James "Monk" and Rose Alexander Elliott. She was married for 60 years to James Orville Holcomb, who died in 2009. She lived most of her adult life in the Sedge Garden area of Winston-Salem, but spent her last months at Vienna Village in Pfafftown. She attended Konnoak Baptist Church, where she had many dear and devoted friends. She was especially fond of the ladies in her Sunday School Class. Virginia was preceded by her parents, her husband, Jimmy Holcomb, her eldest two sons, James Brent Holcomb and Bobby Roger Holcomb, and her sister Sue Elliott Moss. She is survived by a son, Ricky Lane Holcomb and his wife, Jeanie, of Lone Jack, Missouri, and their children and grandchildren; 3 Daughters, Teresa Camby and husband Scott, Stacey Deister and husband Tracy, Amy High and husband Ronny; with nine Great Grandchildren between them; daughter-in-law, Julia Whitley Holcomb of Graham, grandchildren, Heath Holcomb and wife Jennifer of Durham, and Alison Holcomb Cockrell and husband Will, of Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Eleanor Ada Holcomb of Durham and Anna Dare Cockrell of Charlottesville. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller, Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before. Committal will follow at Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery, Catawba County, NC.
