Winston-Salem- Virginia T. Jeffries was born March 3, 1916 in Johnson City, TN, and was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Threatt, Sr. of Fayetteville, NC. She was married in 1937 to Charles M. Gaskins of Spring Hope, NC who passed away in 1986. In 1989 she moved to Winston-Salem and in 1991 married Garnett G. Jeffries. Mrs. Jeffries was a faithful member of Ardmore Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School work as well as the mission program of the church and other related activities. Mrs. Jeffries was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet G. Jeffries. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ronald McDaniel of Washington, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Darlene Gaskins of Collierville, TN; two granddaughters, Lisa Bowen of Plainfield, IL and Susan Butler of Byhalia, MS; two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Emily Bowen. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, February 7, 2011 at Brookridge Retirement Community with Dr. Ray Benefield officiating.
