Mrs. Virginia Greenway Lawson, 88, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully Friday, October 28, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 23, 1927 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late Edwardson Booker and Maggie Joyce Greenway. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Oak Summit Community Church and was a graduate of Hanes High School. Survivors include her husband, Charles Lawson of the home; two daughters, Glenda Eagle and husband, Rex of Winston-Salem and Donna Hobbs and husband, Rodney of Charlotte; one granddaughter, Amy Eagle Whitten and husband, Joe of SC; one grandson, Matthew Hobbs of Charlotte; two great grandchildren, Courtney Whitten of Charlotte and Christopher Charles Whitten of SC; three step granddaughters, Valerie Falkner of GA, Amy Fields of AL and Sarah Hobbs of Concord; one sister, Libby Tucker of Staley and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 4615 Dundas Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
