Virginia Mendenhall

Mrs. Virginia Louise Long Mendenhall, 90, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Virginia was born on February 29, 1928 to Ida Sink Long and Frank Eugene Long in Forsyth County. She retired from Hanes Hosiery in 1993 with 45 years of service. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Murphy Mendenhall; a daughter, Regina Wilson; and a granddaughter, Tracy Wilson. Surviving are her son, Dwain Mendenhall (Kathy) of Winston-Salem; four granddaughters, Melanie Winters, Annie Fitzgerald (Eric), Amy Wilson, Kelly McCrary (Jason); three grandsons, Josh Mendenhall, Chad Wilson, and Jeremy Mendenhall; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Wilburn Long. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek with Pastor Steve Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
