Virginia Joyce Fulk Midkiff passed away peacefully September 8, 2018. She was born September 29, 1930 in Mt. Airy, the daughter of David Lewis and Mary Joyce Fulk of Pilot Mountain. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Glenna Fulk Floyd of Thomasville. Survivors include her devoted husband of 65 years, William Franklin Midkiff of Winston-Salem, a niece Cynthia Floyd, and nephew John Floyd, both of Thomasville. She was a graduate of Pilot Mountain High School, class of 1948 and Guilford College, class of 1952. She taught math at Mineral Springs High School and then became an employee of Western Electric as a technician and retired after 29 years. She was a member of Friedland Moravian Church and sang in the choir for over 50 years. The couple moved to Salemtowne in 2008. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Friedland Moravian Church, 2750 Friedland Church Road, Winston-Salem with Rev. Wayne Byerly and Rev. Adam Goodrich officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home 101 Hospice Ln. Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Friedland Moravian Church, 2750 Friedland Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care she received at Salemtowne.
