Mrs. Virginia Todd Scott, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Danby House. She was born April 8, 1927 in Forsyth County to Nora Belle Spaugh Todd and Rufus Franklin Todd. Mrs. Scott was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she worked with children for many years. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 37 years of service. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Estel Scott; an infant son; two grandchildren, Joseph and William Scott; five sisters and four brothers. Surviving are her three sons, Bobby Scott (Bonnie), Billy Scott (Carol Jane) and Rodney Scott (Marcia); two granddaughters, Jennifer McKnight (Danny) and Alisha Scott; six great grandchildren, Heather, Cory, Celine, Bobby, Bridgette and Leah; one great grandson, Nolan Jackson one sister, Wilma T. Lanning and two brothers, Curtis L. Todd and Theodore "Ted" Todd. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Smith and Rev. Chris Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Danby House or to Community Hospice.
