Virgle Gentry

Mr. Virgle C. Gentry, 93, of Winston-Salem, passed away on June 10, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Virgle was born in Forsyth County, NC to Darris Grant and Vicie Bell Hand Gentry on March 18, 1925. He retired from RJ Reynolds after 30 years of loyal service. Virgle served in the US Navy during the D-Day invasion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Faye Denny Gentry; one sister, Lexie May Gentry; eight brothers, James "Jim" Gentry, Walter Gentry, Jesse Gentry, William "Gaither" Gentry, Mayford Gentry, Robert "J.D." Gentry, Roland Gentry and Richard Gentry. He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Pennell and husband Randy; his grandson, Justin Pennell; his daughter, Laura Gentry (Darrin); and many beloved nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kevin L. Kilbreth officiating.
