Virgle Odell Gobble

Mr. Virgle Odell Gobble, 89, of Advance, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He was born May 20, 1924 in Davie County to Flossie Lanier Gobble and Willis Vestal Gobble. Mr. Gobble was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church during Rev. Otis Clampitt's ministry there. Mr. Gobble was preceded in death by his wife in 2004, Ruby Swaim Gobble; three brothers, J.B., Ottis and Howard Gobble and two sisters, Mavis Peoples and Zula Vay Meadows. Surviving are his daughter, Lanita Doub of Advance; two grandsons, Corey and Wesley Doub, both of Advance; two brothers, Willis and Clarence Gobble, both of Winston-Salem and one sister, Betty Rice of Clemmons. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. There is no stated visitation.
