Wallace James Hayes

Wallace James Hayes, 76, of Belews Creek, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at Walnut Cove Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Hayes was born November 15, 1948, in Forsyth County, to Doc Hayes and Minnie Holman Hayes. 

In addition to his parents, Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Duncan Hayes; and one daughter, Stephanie Hayes.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Matthew Hayes; one brother, Ernest Hayes; two sisters, Nellie Scott, and Elsie Stout; five grandchildren, Heather Fletcher, Austin Prevette (Breanna), Marissa Whitaker (Austin), Sierra Hayes, and Jordan Hayes; five great-grandchildren, Myquan, Ryder, Luke, Ellie, and Robert; and two special family friends, Carrie Walls, and Tammy Martin.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM Saturday, July 19, 2025, at White Road Baptist Church with Pastor R.J. McBride and Pastor Gary Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, July 18, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
