Walter Anderson Brown, Jr.

Walter “Walt” Anderson Brown, Jr., 74, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026.

Born Walter Anderson Brown, Jr., though known to most as Walt, he was a man remembered for his love of music, his dedication to hard work, and the friendships he built throughout his life. For more than 20 years, Walt worked for Advance Auto Parts on Country Club Road, delivering parts and becoming a familiar and trusted face to coworkers, customers, and friends alike.

Music was one of Walt’s greatest passions. He spent many years playing guitar in a band and found happiness in sharing songs, stories, and laughter with those around him. His love for music remained with him throughout his life.

Walt will be remembered for his strong spirit, sense of humor, and caring heart. In his later months, he was thankful for the kindness, friendship, and care shown to him by his longtime manager and friend, Kate Chapman, and her wife, Leigh Hill.

He leaves behind his daughter, Melissa (Brown) Ploskonka of Tennessee; his estranged wife, Debra (LaMere) Brown of Tennessee; and many friends who will cherish his memory.

Walt’s memory will live on through the music he loved and the lives he touched.

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Brown.
