Walter Terry McClure

Mr. Walter ""Terry"" McClure, 75, of Winston-Salem, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. He was born in Charlotte to Walter and Frankie McClure. Terry left in 1961 to serve in the U.S. Air Force until 1965. After returning to Charlotte, Terry worked as an electrician and taught electrical codes at Central Piedmont Community College. He retired as an electrical inspector for Mecklenberg County after nearly 30 years of service. Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Kay and a brother, Harry. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Nancy Gettis McClure; his three children, Michael Terry McClure, David Terry McClure and Jennifer Renae McClure; his four granddaughters, Jessica, Sarah, Peggy and Isabella; a grandson, Connor; a daughter-in-law, Kristen; a sister, Sue and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
