Walter "Ray" Smith

GREENSBORO-Walter ""Ray"" Smith, 54, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at his home. He was born May 9, 1961 in Guilford Co. to Harry Smith, Jr. and Betty Lawson Smith. Ray was a member of the Sugar Shack Hunting Club. He was employed by Averitt Express with over 20 years of service. In addition to his parents surviving are his wife, Kim King Smith of the home; two daughters, Holly Smith and Brandon Daniels of Walkertown, Lindsey Smith and Taylor Sumner of Greensboro; granddaughter, Annabelle; sister, Ranae Smith;and nephew, Ricky Smith both of Greensboro. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel prior to the service.
