Wanda Lou Sparks Smith, 84, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on January 23, 1934 in Ervine, KY to Lucrecy Cox Sparks and Cash P. Sparks. She graduated from West Carrollton High School in West Carrollton, OH. Wanda retired from Western Electric, but her most important work was taking care of her family over the years. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Clemmons. Wanda was an avid bowler, playing in many tournaments over the years. She was also an animal lover, especially her beloved Dachshund dogs. Most of all, she was a loving and caring mother and wife. Wanda was known as a very sweet woman who was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and six brothers and sister. Surviving family includes her husband, Carol Smith of Winston-Salem; children, Dwight Morris of Clayton, Paula Smith and Michelle Beck both of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Aaron Beck of Winston-Salem, Kristi Snipes (Bryan) and Jamie Morris all of Kernersville; great-grandchildren, Colton and Shelby Snipes; one sister, Faye Canter of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Matthew Pope officiating. Interment will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
