Wanda Wetherall

Belews Creek – Wanda Edith Carter Wetherall,  went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Lorane William and Edith Mae Carter. Wanda graduated from Walkertown High School, part of the Class of 1954 and loved reuniting with her classmates. She would then go on graduate from Guilford College in 1959 and later earned her master’s degree in early childhood education. Wanda married the love of her life, Jack Wetherall on June 18, 1961, and had one son, Bill. She had a passion for teaching, but when Bill was born, she stayed home to raise him. She later returned to teaching part time. Wanda loved flowers and to watch them bloom. In the latter years of her life, she enjoyed travelling the world, such as Holland, London, and Italy to name a few. Wanda was a loving wife and mother, who loved the Lord and her church with all her heart. She will surely be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jack Wetherall.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bill Wetherall, and wife, Betsy, and her favorite dog, Cody.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 3, 2023, at Goodwill Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Mullis and Rev. Rob Decker officiating. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belews Creek Volunteer Fire Department, 7675 Belews Creek Rd, Belews Creek, NC 27009. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. The family would like to thank her special friends Jane, Tracy, and Les; her caregivers, Cindi and Susie; and the people of Affordable Family Care for all the love and care they showed her through the years.
