Wayne Dalton Allen

Wayne Dalton Allen, 80, of Clemmons, NC, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Born April 3, 1945, to the late Paul and Ruth Allen of Tobaccoville, NC, Wayne was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Wayne dedicated 35 years of his life to RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, retiring as a Manager of Tobacco International Research and Development. His work took him around the globe, and he forged many lifelong relationships with his colleagues and team.

A man of faith and compassion, Wayne had a servant’s heart. He volunteered with many organizations throughout his life, including the Old Richmond Fire Department, Habitat for Humanity, and the Storehouse for Jesus.

Wayne was an avid golfer and a lifelong lover of gospel music. In his younger years, he sang in a gospel quartet alongside his brother, Charlie. A longtime active member of Clemmons United Methodist Church, he sang bass in the choir and participated in numerous mission trips with the church’s building team.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Allen (wife, Shirley) of Tobaccoville, NC; and his sister-in-law, Pat Allen (wife of Charles Allen) of King, NC.

Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanette Catherine Spencer Allen, of Advance, NC; and was a loving father to Anthony Allen (wife, Christine), Kelly Allen (wife, Kelly), both of Pinnacle, NC, and Amy Dixon (husband, Roy) of East Bend, NC; and a caring stepfather to Monica Parmele (husband, Chris) of Clemmons, NC, and Russell Edwards (wife, Amanda) of Greer, SC. Wayne was also the proud grandfather of Dalton Allen, Jackson Allen, Cassidy Allen, Colton Allen, Travis Dixon, Rachel Dixon, Aaron Parmele, Chandler Edwards, and Sophia Edwards. He also leaves behind his sister, Marianne Hale (husband, Harold) of Winston-Salem, NC; and his brother, Charles Allen of King, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Clemmons United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will immediately follow the service in the church columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, Wayne requested that donations should be made to the Storehouse for Jesus in Mocksville, NC, https://storehouseforjesus.mywell.org/give/sign-in, or to the Habitat for Humanity of Winston-Salem, NC, https://habitatforsyth.org/donate/

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Trinity Elms Assisted Living Facility, the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, and to the special caregivers—Gloria, Robyn, and Trish—who brought Wayne so much joy, care, and comfort in recent years.

Wayne’s legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live on in all who knew him.
