Wayne Carlton Walters

Mr. Wayne Carlton Walters, age 67, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, April 3^rd 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Wayne was born on May 5^th, 1956, in Winston-Salem, NC, to the late Grover Clifford Walters and Ruth Hildebrand Walters.

After graduating R.J. Reynolds High School in 1975, Wayne went on to join the U.S. Navy and served for 4 years where he would travel the seas and work as a welder on submarines. He was honorably discharged in 1980. Following his Naval service, he was a member of the Reserves for 2 years from 1980 to 1982. He later worked as a welder and attended Forsyth Tech. His favorite hobbies included trips to the beach with family, fishing, and watching sports.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 41 years, Jill; daughter, Lauren; and brother, Gary, all of Winston-Salem, NC. Also surviving is his niece, Jennifer Dumond and family, of Cameron, NC.

A graveside service will be held for Wayne on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 2:00PM at Parklawn Memorial Park in the mausoleum chapel with Rev. Doug Klein officiating.
