Wilbert Franklin Humphrey

Mr. Wilbert ""Bill"" Franklin Humphrey, 82, of Clemmons, North Carolina passed away Thursday, November 20th, at Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem after a brief illness. He was born in Forsyth County on January 14, 1932, to the late Clyde Hall Humphrey and the late Beatrice Brown Humphrey. He was a faithful member of Lewisville Baptist Church and Pleasant View Baptist Church. Mr. Humphrey lived in Forsyth County after proudly serving in Korea as a Quarter Master in the United States Navy. He retired from Hanes after over 30 years of service. He was a long time member of the Tar Heel Cutlery Club. Surviving is his son, Randy Humphrey and wife Billie of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Craig Humphrey and wife Joanna of Lewisville, Kim Sheets and husband Michael of Advance, Darrell Humphrey and wife Hannan of Advance; eight great-grandchildren, Emily, Maxwell, Alex, Barrett, Whyitt, Lakin, Liliana and Waylin; one sister, Sherrin Badger and husband Don of Winston-Salem; one brother-in-law, Steve Wiles, wife Lori and special niece Sarah of Kernersville; one cousin, Clara Whitley; one uncle, Greene Brown and wife Hallalene, and many beloved extended family members. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dee. The funeral will be held at 5:00PM, Sunday, November 23rd, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel and conducted by Dr. George D. Smith. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall at 11:00 AM, Monday.
