Willette Beck

Mrs. Willette Thomas Beck, 84, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019. She was born October 30, 1934 in Iredell County to Alpha Jernigan Thomas and James Howard Thomas. Mrs. Beck graduated from Draughn’s Business College. She was employed as a secretary for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, but later became a homemaker for 52 years. Mrs. Beck was a faithful and longtime member of Konnoak Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Keith Beck. Surviving are her husband, Bill Beck; one daughter, Sarah Detter; two sons, David Beck (Katie) and Wesley Beck (Wendy); a daughter-in-law, Kathy Beck; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and one brother, Hank Thomas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Konnoak Baptist Church, 400 McLean Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 2127.
