William A. Bailey

Mr. William A. Bailey, 80, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County on October 16, 1936 to the late William Alex and Mabel Hartman Bailey. William graduated from Shady Grove High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 34 years of service. He was a member of the Oasis Shriners and the Advance Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association in which he had the opportunity to travel to 48 states on different motorcycle trips. Surviving are his sister, Callie Bailey Terry; niece, Dena Elizabeth Terry; nephew, Harold David Terry, Jr. (Jenny); four great nieces, Kaitlin Lanier, Cara Terry, Riley Terry, and Harper Terry; three cousins, Taylor Fred Bailey, Jenny Rota, and Jeff Slagle; also surviving is a special friend, Ann Newsome. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Advance United Methodist Church with Rev. Patrick Snow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St. Oxford, NC 27565.
