Mr. William “Bill” Hyman Bircham Jr., 89, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on May 26, 2024. He was born one of six children in McDowell, West Virginia on October 23, 1934, to the late Mr. William Hyman Bircham Sr. and Mrs. Irene Beatrice Tabor Bircham. Mr. Bircham was an honorable man, he respectfully served our country in the United States Army, where he was ranked as a Specialist 3 Corporal, as well as the United States Navy where he was ranked Seaman. Before serving his country, he joined the workforce early, as a teen, working in the West Virginia Coal Mines. When Bill returned from the Navy, he worked as a Shop Foreman for Mcleans Trucking Company. After retirement, you could always find him at the nearest flea market collecting many things. Bill is survived by his son, William “Will” Hyman Bircham III (Melissa); a brother, Brad (Diane) Bircham; a sister, Louise Bircham; a granddaughter Mallory; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bircham was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Baldwin Bircham; two brothers, Roger Lee and Eugene “Sonny” Bircham; a sister, Shirley Bircham; and an infant sister, Mary Ethel Bircham. A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Bircham will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at First Christian Church of Clemmons. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Bill’s late wife Bobbie, may be made to the American Cancer Society online or by mail to, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. The family would like to invite guests to join them for light refreshments immediately after the service, in the church fellowship hall. The Bircham family has entrusted Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the services.
