William "Bill" Robert Shotton

William Robert (Bill) Shotton of Pinnacle, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Cathy Shotton, his son Jason and his wife Jennifer, and two grandchildren: Lowell and Jenna. Bill is also survived by his brother, Steve Shotton (Judy) of Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Alice Shotton. Bill was born in Peoria, Illinois on November 12, 1939. He was a graduate of Bradley University and enjoyed a career in construction management. Bill retired from Wake Forest University in 2009. He enjoyed tennis and pickleball with friends, WFU sporting events, gardening, trips with Cathy, and anything outdoors, especially fishing with family. He was a craftsman and a builder who loved to work with his hands, from restoring antiques to building the beautiful home where he and Cathy lived. Bill was a faithful believer in God’s grace, and he has received his eternal reward with our Savior. The family will receive friends at Capella Church of Christ in King, NC from 4:00 – 5:00 on Friday, September 19. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 with Pastor Donald Davis presiding, followed by a private graveside interment.
