William Guest

William “Bill” F. Guest passed away February 7, 2023, at the age of 90, in Winston-Salem, NC. Bill was born on August 5, 1932, in Trenton, New Jersey to the late William H. and Pearl J. Guest. He was retired from U.S. Steel (Fairless Hills) where he began working after serving his country in the U.S. Army during the years of the Korean Conflict. Bill was a longtime member of Hamilton Square Baptist Church before moving to North Carolina and joining a new fellowship of believers at College Park Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.

Bill was a devoted and loving husband and father whose selfless love of family leaves a lasting legacy for his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed bowling and camping, and was a regular at the bowling lanes until age 82. His most memorable camping adventure was an 11-week cross country excursion where he shared with his wife and children the incredible geographic and cultural diversity of our great country.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Shirley Ann Guest; his children and their spouses, Richard K. Guest and Sue (Denver, CO), Terri L. Goodman and Noah (Winston-Salem, NC), and Ronald S. Guest and Melanie (Bedford, NH); his brothers and their spouses, Robert J. Guest and Joyce (Trenton, NJ), Bruce W. Guest and Joan (Skillman, NJ); his grandchildren, Cameron N. Goodman, Matthew T. Goodman, Michele V. Deris (Alex), Daniele P. Guest, Adam W. Guest; two great-granddaughters, Lydia and Marilyn, and several nieces and nephews.

A service of love and remembrance will be held in Hamilton Square, NJ. Arrangements pending. Memorials may be made to a food bank or food pantry of your choice, or the College Park Baptist Church Building Fund (1701 Polo Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106).
