William Edwin ("Bill") Hildreth, Sr., 87, passed away at Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem from dementia-related illnesses on September 30, 2017. He was born and raised in the Waughtown neighborhood of Winston-Salem and was the son of William Franklin and Ruby Lucille Creson Hildreth. Surviving are his wife, Evva Jean Perryman Hildreth of Winston-Salem, and two children, Deborah Hildreth Craven of Walkertown and William Edwin Hildreth, Jr., of Sneads Ferry, NC. He is also survived by two brothers, David Hildreth of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Alston Hildreth of Forbush, NC. Bill spent just over 41 years as a loyal employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. His passions were gardening at the long-time former family home in Arcadia, NC, and collecting R.J. Reynolds Tobacco memorabilia and other memorabilia related to the tobacco industry. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, October, 3, 2017, at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Brian Crady officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Winston-Salem at hospicecarecenter.org, or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org.
