William Joyce, Jr.

Succumbing to injuries from a traffic accident, William Michael “Mike” Joyce, Jr. (59), passed away peacefully March 11, 2022.  Mike was born in Winston-Salem, NC on January 29, 1963, to Mike Joyce, Sr. and Mary Ann Joyce.  Mike was a graduate of Parkland High School, class of 1981.  He was a retired maintenance man, who could fix just about any appliance you gave him.  He never met someone he couldn’t talk to, no one was a stranger to him.  Mike loved fast cars and motorcycles, bodysurfing in the ocean, and watching the Weather Channel.

Mike is survived by his parents of Winston-Salem, NC.  He is also survived by his childhood sweetheart, his wife of 38 years, Karen Joyce; daughters, Lynn Hill (Andy) of Cary, NC and Sara Joyce of Winston-Salem, NC; 3 grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Khloe, and Alexander Hill of Cary, NC; 2 sisters, Michelle Joyce and Mary Nell Mallery (Richard) of Winston-Salem, NC; nieces and nephew, Emma, Genna, and Richard Mallery of Winston-Salem, NC; brother-in-law, Steve Shepherd of Raleigh, NC.  He is also survived by his forever faithful furbaby, Lotti.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on March 19, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home at 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  Internment will proceed at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC.
