William "Billy Joe" Melton

WINSTON SALEM - Mr. William Joseph ""Billy Joe"" Melton, 47, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home. William was born on February 2, 1968 in Forsyth County to the late William Haywood and Doris Everhart Melton. He attended Green Tree Community Church and Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God. William was a loving son and brother. He enjoyed spending time with children and his animals.

William is survived by two sisters, Joann Turner and Sandra Rothrock (husband, Hal); two brothers, Jimmy Noah and Jody Melton; a very special child he raised as his own from 9 months old, Leah Ann West and her two children, Haley Marshall and Serenity Manring; four special nephews, Dennis and Tylor Bowles, Wibby Rothrock and Ryan Melton; a special niece, Mandy Bowles; and a special cousin Mellisa Melton.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Mt. Carmel Church of the Living God with Pastor Charlie Harris and Pastor Tim Gross officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family.
