William “Billy” Haywood Melton

Mr. William ""Billy"" Haywood Melton loving husband, father and grandfather, 69 of Winston Salem passed away Saturday July 14, 2012 at his home. He was born July 16, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Haywood Melton and Fannie Phelps Melton. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers; Cecil Melton, Howard Melton and Ray Phelps, Sr. He was survived by his loving wife of 46 years Doris Everhart Melton; six children; Joanne Turner, Sandra Rothrock, Jimmy Noah , William Joseph Melton, Jody Melton and Leah West; two brothers; Louis (Rojer) Melton and Robert Melton; three grandchildren Dennis Bowles, Wilburn Rothrock and Ryan Melton, several great grandchildren, the closes were Miranda Bowles, Tylor Bowles, Hailey West, Terry Bowles and Serenity Manring and a special sister in-law Barbara Melton. Mr. Melton was a Deacon of Mt. Caramel Church of the living God. The family will receive friends and family at the church on 1017 Apple Street in Winston-Salem Monday, July 16, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A eulogy will be held by a very special friend and Pastor Charlie Harris at 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Church of the living God. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
