William "Shane" Parrish

William “Shane” Parrish, 42, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1982, to Vernon Parrish and Wanda Shelton Parrish. Shane will be remembered for his creativity and “redneck engineering”. He grew up in Oak Ridge, where he attended Northwest Guilford High School and wrestled on the varsity team. From a young age, Shane was adventurous and caring. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing anything he could get his hands on and using these projects to make fun. He rescued any animal he came across that needed help and was a sucker for helping people as well. Shane was also an artist, and his need to create expanded beyond mechanical means. As an adult, he lived in Pinellas Co, FL, where he found his “second family” at the Freedom Boat Club. He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him. 

In addition to his parents, Shane is survived by his siblings, Michelle Markle (Travis) and Matthew Parrish; Niece Taylor Markle; Nephew Beau Markle; Maternal grandmother, Millie Bennett; as well as two young men whom he raised and co-parented with Hope Wyant, Zack and Nick Tourville.
