William Blackburn

William Terry Blackburn, 68, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. He was born on November 23, 1950 to Thomas Jake and Helen Carper Blackburn. He retired from R.J. Reynolds after more than 31 years of service. Terry graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1969 and served in the Navy from 1969 to 1973.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and nieces, Katrina Easter and Stephanie Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Walker Blackburn, son, Patrick Jake Blackburn, one brother, Thomas Allen Blackburn, two sisters, Shirley Blackburn Easter and husband Bill Easter, and Sandra Gayle Blackburn along with numerous nieces and nephews.

At his request, Terry’s body was donated to Wake Forest School of Medicine.

A Celebration Service will be held March 2, 2019 at 2 o’clock at Fulp Moravian Church, Walnut Cove, NC with Reverends Chuck Harmon and Steve Ayers. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Bruce Brasher and the many doctors and nurses at Forsyth Medical Center for their loving care during Terry’s brief illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Terry’s name to the NC Wildlife Endowment Fund at ncwildlife.org.
