William Tilley

WINSTON SALEM - William "Bill" Walter Tilley, 74, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Bill was born on October 24, 1943 in Guilford County to the late James Alton and Beulah Edna Ashley Tilley.
Bill retired from RJ Reynolds with over 30 years of service. He also worked part time at Sedge Garden Discount Builders, changing to full time after retirement, totaling over 40 years of service with them. He was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for many years, with his wife, Becky Tilley, who preceded him in death. He enjoyed gardening and loved sharing his harvest with others. Bill was a loving father, grandfather and great friend. His generosity and kindness will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his two sons, Larry Tilley (wife, Shelby) and Jeff Tilley (wife, Michelle); a granddaughter, Gabby Tilley; one brother, James Tilley; three sisters, Peggy Jones, Edna Marshall and Margaret Hinson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2018 at Oaklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
