KERNERSVILLE -- Mr. William ""Bill"" Floyd Vaughn, Sr., 87, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Bill was born in Forsyth County on January 7, 1927 to Webb and Stella Parnell Vaughn. Bill retired from the US Postal Service with over 30 years of service and was recipient of the Million Mile Driving Award. He was a member of Ardmore Moravian Church and was an avid bowler.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by three sons, William Floyd Vaughn, Jr., Dennis Vaughn, Tim Vaughn.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Gross Vaughn; son, Doug Vaughn (wife, Karen); stepson, Ray Shelton; stepdaughter, Belinda Bodenheimer (husband, Bob); five grandchildren; five great grandchildren ; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as stepgrandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Cross Moravian Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the family home.
