William Weiss

Mr. William "Bill" Cupp Weiss, 69, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born April 16, 1948 to the late George Linhoss Weiss and Reba Lynn Cupp Weiss. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He retired after a 30-year career as a Letter Carrier from the US Postal Service. Bill was a member of Pfafftown Baptist Church and a volunteer with Crisis Control Ministry. He loved God, his family, his friends, his country, and will remain forever loved in our hearts. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Roland Wease. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah Edwards Weiss; his daughter, Mandy Boyce (Michael); his son, Zach Weiss; three grandchildren: Natalie, Noah, and Nox Boyce; three siblings: Jack Weiss (Karen), Judy Rexrode (Danny), Richard Weiss (Dawn); two brothers-in-law: Sam Edwards (Joy) and Eddie Edwards (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Pfafftown Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Bounds and Preacher Eddie Bracket officiating the service. Rev. Bracket will also share personal words from Bill's friend, Rev. Bill Yates. The committal service will follow directly after the funeral at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and Crisis Control Ministry, Inc., 200 E 10th Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
