William Richard Wyatt Sr.

Mr. William Richard Wyatt Sr., 94, a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Born December 1, 1930, in Davie County, William was the son of the late Uriah D. and Ruth Wyatt. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and spent thirty dedicated years working for Reynolds Tobacco before retiring.

William was known for his deep passion for collecting firearms and his expertise as a marksman. He also enjoyed hunting and traveling, but his love for firearms stood above all—an interest he pursued with enthusiasm and skill throughout his life.

He lived life to the fullest, always on his own terms. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his beloved wife of sixty-one years, Ruby Wyatt; his brother, Daniel Wyatt; and his sister, Barbara Valentine.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Deborah Warshawsky (Susan); grandchildren, Matthew and Stephanie; and great-grandchildren, Carter and Owen.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. 

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made a charity of the donor’s choice.
