William “Bill” V. Roessler III, 75, of Fancy Gap, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC.
Bill was born on December 16, 1944 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to William V. Roessler, Jr and Thelma Hanson Roessler. He moved to Winston-Salem, NC with his parents when he was 7 years old. He graduated from N.C. State with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. He served his country in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War from 1968-1972.
Bill retired from N.C. State in the field of Public Health in 1991 and also retired as co-owner of Legacy Kennels, Inc. He was a member of the N.C. Zoological Society and was an avid animal lover.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, with Chaplain Mark Merical officiating.
