KERNERSVILLE- Willie Harris Cavenaugh, 86 passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014. He was born August 31, 1927 in Duplin Co. to the late Robert Russell and Alberta English Cavenaugh. Mr. Cavenaugh was a Charter member of Triad Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and other capacities within the church. He was owner and operator of Cavenaugh Nursery and Landscaping. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Norwood Cavenaugh; and a sister, Patsy Boyd. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Hazel Sanderson Cavenaugh of the home; son, Harry Russell Cavenaugh and wife, Ruth; granddaughter, Charlotte Knouse and husband, Bobby; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Duncan Cavenaugh and wife, Carol. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Triad Baptist Church with Dr. Rob Decker and Dennis Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church. A Graveside Service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Cavenaugh family cemetery in Wallace, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Cavenaugh family.
