Wilma Russell Spaugh

Mrs. Wilma Russell Spaugh, 93, of Pinnacle, NC, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away on Tuesday September 30, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Spaugh was born on August 26, 1921 in Forsyth County to Allie Gilmer Russell and Madora Bell Hayes Russell. She was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church. Wilma spent her career in retail and retired from Davis Department Store. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and be deeply missed by all of her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spaugh was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin A. Spaugh. She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Warden (James) of Pinnacle, NC, Karen Barney (Jerry) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Betty Sloop (Ben) of Mint Hill, NC, and Bonnie Tucker (Jerry) of Winston-Salem; five granddaughters, Kim McCann (Jeff), Angie Bell (Ashley), Lisa Snell (Jonathan), Amanda Fleming (Michael), and Hollie Gomez (Justin); 10 great-grandchildren, Kayla McCann, Drew McCann, Maddie Grace Bell, Carson Snell, Brianna Snell, Ava Lynn Fleming, Grayson Fleming, Ashton Fleming, Samuel Gomez, and Luke Gomez. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2014 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with Dr. Worth Green officiating. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
